Before I begin, I like to invoke the divine to bless my work. You could invoke a divination spirit, if you work with one. I would bring an offering to his or her altar and offer a brief prayer. If you do not work with spirits in this way, you could meditate or take a moment to focus your intent. You could also play some appropriately themed music. Since I am working with a spirit, I will stir the pot counter clockwise. If you are not working with a spirit(s), I recommend stirring clockwise.
Add everything to a large pot on high heat except the coconut milk and rice. As I handle each ingredient, I focus on the magical properties. As I put each ingredient into the pot, I say something like, “I add carrots to strengthen my third eye.” This connects me to my craft and focuses my intent. I stir after I add each ingredient and focus on nurturing my psychic abilities.
Bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer and cover. Cook for 30-45 minutes (check the potatoes to make sure they are done). I cook the rice separately. I typically use waxing moon water for growth when I cook the rice. After the potatoes are done, I add the rice and coconut milk. The soup is now ready to serve. Enjoy!
