Before I begin, I invoke the divine to bless my work. I work with Erzuli Freda, a loa of love, so I would ask for her assistance with this spell. I would bring an offering to her altar and offer a brief prayer. If you do not work with spirits in this way, you could meditate or take a moment to focus your intent. Since I am working with a spirit, I will stir the pot counter clockwise. If you are not working with a spirit(s), I recommend stirring clockwise.

First, I blanche the tomatoes to remove the skins. As I handle each ingredient, I focus on the magical properties (abundance and love for tomatoes). Next, I cut them into quarters and put them in a large pot.

As I put each ingredient into the pot, I say something like, “I add tomatoes for an abundance of love.” This connects me to my craft and focuses my intent.

Put the pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add all of the herbs, stirring after you add each one. Focus on your intent as you stir. Chop the onion, celery, garlic, and bell pepper. Add the veggies and beans. Cover the pot. When it is simmering, reduce heat to low and cook for 1.5 hours. If you prefer a slightly thinner chili, I recommend adding a little full moon water (to attract) or waxing moon water (to promote growth). Enjoy!
